Romans 3

1 Therefore, what is the advantage of the Jew? Or what is the benefit of circumcision?

2 Much according to every way. First, on the one hand, [[for]] that they were entrusted with the oracles of God;

3 but one the other hand for what? Since certain ones disbelieved, then their unbelief will not idle-down the faith of God, will it?

4 May it not come to be! But let God come to be true and every man a liar. Just as it has been written: So that You might be justified in Your words and will conquer in the result for You to be judged.

5 But since our unrighteousness places together the righteousness of God, then what will we say? Is not God unrighteous, the One bringing wrath? I speak according to a man.

6 May it not come to be! Otherwise, how will God judge the world?

7 But since the truth of God abounded in my lie into His glory, then why am I still also judged as a sinner?

8 And not, just as we are slandered, and just as certain ones claim that for us to say, “Let us do evil things, in order that good things might come.” Whose judgment is just.

9 What then? Are we better? Not at all. For we charged before, both Jews and Greeks, all to be under sin.

10 Just as it has been written that, there is not a righteous one, not even one.

11 There is not one understanding, there is not one seeking God.

12 All turned away together, they became useless, there is not one doing kindness, there is not one even until now.

13 Their throat is an opened tomb; with their tongues they were dealing treacherously; poison of asps is under their lips.

14 Whose mouth is full of a curse and bitterness.

15 Their feet are swift to pour out blood.

16 Destruction and misery are in their ways.

17 And the way of peace they did not know.

18 There is not fear of God opposite their eyes.

19 And we know that as many things as the law says, it says to the ones in the law, in order that every mouth might be stopped, and all the world might come to be accountable to God,

20 because out from works of law, all flesh will not be justified before Him, for through law comes a full knowledge of sin.

21 But now without law, the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets.

22 And the righteousness of God through faith of Jesus Christ into all the ones believing, for there is not a distinction,

23 for all sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption, the one in Christ Jesus,

25 Whom God proposed a mercy-seat through [[the]] faith in His blood into a demonstration of His righteousness, on account of the remission of the prior sins,

26 in the forbearance of God, toward the demonstration of His righteousness in the present time, into the purpose for Him to be righteous, and justifying the one out from faith of Jesus.

27 Where then is boasting? It was excluded. Through what sort of law? Of works? Not of works, but through a law of faith.

28 For we reckon a man to be justified by faith without works of law.

29 Or is God of the Jews only? Is He not also of the nations? Yes, also of the nations.

30 Since indeed God is One, Who will justify the circumcision out from faith and the uncircumcision through the faith.

31 Do we then idle-down the law through faith? May it not come to be, but we establish the law.

1 Τί (what is) οὖν (therefore) τὸ (the) περισσὸν (advantage) τοῦ (of the) Ἰουδαίου (Jew) ἢ (or) τίς (what is) ἡ (the) ὠφέλεια (benefit) τῆς (of the) περιτομῆς (circumcision)

2 πολὺ (much) κατὰ (according to) πάντα (every) τρόπον (way) πρῶτον (first) μὲν (on the one hand) [γὰρ] (for) ὅτι (that) ἐπιστεύθησαν (they were entrusted with) τὰ (the) λόγια (oracles) τοῦ (of the) θεοῦ (God)

3 τί (but one the other hand what) γάρ (for) εἰ (since) ἠπίστησάν (disbelieved) τινες (certain ones) μὴ (not) ἡ (the) ἀπιστία (unbelief) αὐτῶν (then their) τὴν (the) πίστιν (faith) τοῦ (of the) θεοῦ (God will it?) καταργήσει (will idle-down)

4 μὴ (not) γένοιτο (may it come to be) γινέσθω (let come to be) δὲ (but) ὁ (the) θεὸς (God) ἀληθής (true) πᾶς (every) δὲ (and) ἄνθρωπος (man) ψεύστης (a liar) καθὼς (just as) γέγραπται (it has been written) ὅπως ἂν (so that) δικαιωθῇς (You might be justified) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) λόγοις (words) σου (Your) καὶ (and) νικήσεις (will conquer) ἐν (in) τῷ (the result) κρίνεσθαί (to be judged) σε (for You)

5 εἰ (since) δὲ (but) ἡ (the) ἀδικία (unrighteousness) ἡμῶν (our) θεοῦ (of God) δικαιοσύνην (the righteousness) συνίστησιν (places together) τί (then what) ἐροῦμεν (will we say) μὴ (not) ἄδικος (is unrighteous) ὁ (the) θεὸς (God) ὁ (the One) ἐπιφέρων (bringing) τὴν (the) ὀργήν (wrath) κατὰ (according to) ἄνθρωπον (a man) λέγω (I speak)

6 μὴ (not) γένοιτο (may it come to be) ἐπεὶ (otherwise) πῶς (how) κρινεῖ (will judge) ὁ (the) θεὸς (God) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world)

7 εἰ (since) δὲ (but) ἡ (the) ἀλήθεια (truth) τοῦ (of the) θεοῦ (God) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἐμῷ (my) ψεύσματι (lie) ἐπερίσσευσεν (abounded) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) δόξαν (glory) αὐτοῦ (His) τί (then why) ἔτι (still) κἀγὼ (I also) ὡς (as) ἁμαρτωλὸς (sinner) κρίνομαι (am judged)

8 καὶ (and) μὴ (not) καθὼς (just as) βλασφημούμεθα (we are slandered) καὶ (and) καθώς (just as) φασίν (claim) τινες (certain ones) ἡμᾶς (for us) λέγειν (to say) ὅτι (that) ποιήσωμεν (let us do) τὰ (the) κακά (evil things) ἵνα (in order that) ἔλθῃ (might come) τὰ (the) ἀγαθά (good things) ὧν (whose) τὸ (the) κρίμα (judgment) ἔνδικόν (just) ἐστιν (is)

9 Τί (what) οὖν (then) προεχόμεθα (are we better) οὐ (not) πάντως (at all) προῃτιασάμεθα (we before charged) γὰρ (for) Ἰουδαίους (Jews) τε (both) καὶ (and) Ἕλληνας (Greeks) πάντας (all) ὑφ᾽ (under) ἁμαρτίαν (sin) εἶναι (to be)

10 καθὼς (just as) γέγραπται (it has been written) ὅτι (that) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (there is) δίκαιος (a righteous one) οὐδὲ (not even) εἷς (one)

11 οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (there is) ὁ (the one) συνίων (understanding) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (there is) ὁ (the one) ἐκζητῶν (seeking) τὸν (the) θεόν (God)

12 πάντες (all) ἐξέκλιναν (turned away) ἅμα (together) ἠχρεώθησαν (they became useless) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (there is) ὁ (the one) ποιῶν (doing) χρηστότητα (kindness) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (there is one) ἕως (even until now) ἑνός (one)

13 τάφος (tomb) ἀνεῳγμένος (is an opened) ὁ (the) λάρυγξ (throat) αὐτῶν (their) ταῖς (with the) γλώσσαις (tongues) αὐτῶν (their) ἐδολιοῦσαν (they were dealing treacherously) ἰὸς (poison) ἀσπίδων (of asps) ὑπὸ (is under) τὰ (the) χείλη (lips) αὐτῶν (their)

14 ὧν (whose) τὸ (the) στόμα (mouth) ἀρᾶς (of a curse) καὶ (and) πικρίας (bitterness) γέμει (is full)

15 ὀξεῖς (are swift) οἱ (the) πόδες (feet) αὐτῶν (their) ἐκχέαι (to pour out) αἷμα (blood)

16 σύντριμμα (destruction) καὶ (and) ταλαιπωρία (misery) ἐν (are in) ταῖς (the) ὁδοῖς (ways) αὐτῶν (their)

17 καὶ (and) ὁδὸν (the way) εἰρήνης (of peace) οὐκ (did not) ἔγνωσαν (they know)

18 οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (there is) φόβος (fear) θεοῦ (of God) ἀπέναντι (opposite) τῶν (of the) ὀφθαλμῶν (eyes) αὐτῶν (their)

19 οἴδαμεν (we know) δὲ (and) ὅτι (that) ὅσα (as many things as) ὁ (the) νόμος (law) λέγει (says) τοῖς (to the ones) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) νόμῳ (law) λαλεῖ (it says) ἵνα (in order that) πᾶν (every) στόμα (mouth) φραγῇ (might be stopped) καὶ (and) ὑπόδικος (accountable) γένηται (might come to be) πᾶς (all) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) τῷ (to the) θεῷ (God)

20 διότι (because) ἐξ (out from) ἔργων (works) νόμου (of law) οὐ (not) δικαιωθήσεται (will be justified) πᾶσα (all) σὰρξ (flesh) ἐνώπιον (before) αὐτοῦ (Him) διὰ (through) γὰρ (for) νόμου (law) ἐπίγνωσις (comes a full knowledge) ἁμαρτίας (of sin)

21 Νυνὶ (now) δὲ (but) χωρὶς (without) νόμου (law) δικαιοσύνη (the righteousness) θεοῦ (of God) πεφανέρωται (has been manifested) μαρτυρουμένη (being witnessed) ὑπὸ (by) τοῦ (the) νόμου (law) καὶ (and) τῶν (the) προφητῶν (prophets)

22 δικαιοσύνη (the righteousness) δὲ (and) θεοῦ (of God) διὰ (through) πίστεως (faith) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) εἰς (into) πάντας (all) τοὺς (the ones) πιστεύοντας (believing) οὐ (not) γάρ (for) ἐστιν (there is) διαστολή (a distinction)

23 πάντες (all) γὰρ (for) ἥμαρτον (sinned) καὶ (and) ὑστεροῦνται (fall short) τῆς (of the) δόξης (glory) τοῦ (of the) θεοῦ (God)

24 δικαιούμενοι (being justified) δωρεὰν (freely) τῇ (by the) αὐτοῦ (His) χάριτι (grace) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) ἀπολυτρώσεως (redemption) τῆς (the one) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus)

25 ὃν (Whom) προέθετο (proposed) ὁ (the) θεὸς (God) ἱλαστήριον (a mercy-seat) διὰ (through) [[τῆς (the)]] πίστεως (faith) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) αὐτοῦ (His) αἵματι (blood) εἰς (into) ἔνδειξιν (a demostration) τῆς (of the) δικαιοσύνης (righteousness) αὐτοῦ (His) διὰ (on account of) τὴν (the) πάρεσιν (remission) τῶν (of the) προγεγονότων (prior) ἁμαρτημάτων (sins)

26 ἐν (in) τῇ (the) ἀνοχῇ (forbearance) τοῦ (of the) θεοῦ (God) πρὸς (toward) τὴν (the) ἔνδειξιν (demonstration τῆς (of the) δικαιοσύνης (righteousness) αὐτοῦ (His) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) νῦν (present) καιρῷ (time) εἰς (into) τὸ (the purpose) εἶναι (to be) αὐτὸν (for Him) δίκαιον (righteous) καὶ (and) δικαιοῦντα (justifying) τὸν (the one) ἐκ (out from) πίστεως (faith) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus)

27 Ποῦ (where) οὖν (then) ἡ (the) καύχησις (is boasting) ἐξεκλείσθη (it was excluded) διὰ (through) ποίου (what sort) νόμου (of law) τῶν (of the) ἔργων (works) οὐχί (not of works) ἀλλὰ (but) διὰ (though) νόμου (a law) πίστεως (of faith)

28 λογιζόμεθα (we reckon) γὰρ (for) δικαιοῦσθαι (to be justified) πίστει (by faith) ἄνθρωπον (a man) χωρὶς (without) ἔργων (works) νόμου (of law)

29 ἢ (or) Ἰουδαίων (of the Jews) ὁ (is the) θεὸς (God) μόνον (only) οὐχὶ (is He not) καὶ (also) ἐθνῶν (of the nations) ναὶ (yes) καὶ (also) ἐθνῶν (of the nations)

30 εἴπερ (since indeed) εἷς (is One) ὁ (the) θεὸς (God) ὃς (Who) δικαιώσει (will justify) περιτομὴν (the circumcision) ἐκ (out from) πίστεως (faith) καὶ (and) ἀκροβυστίαν (the uncircumcision) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) πίστεως (faith)

31 νόμον (the law) οὖν (then) καταργοῦμεν (do we idle-down) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) πίστεως (faith) μὴ (not) γένοιτο (may it come to be) ἀλλὰ (but) νόμον (the law) ἱστάνομεν (we establish)
