Galatians 4

Moreover, I say, over as long a time as the heir is immature, not even one thing carries through from a bondservant, though being lord of all things,

but is under guardians and stewards until the pre-appointed time of the father.

Even so we, when we were immature under the elements of the world, were enslaved.

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out His Son, having come to be out from a woman, having come to be under law,

in order that He might redeem the ones under law, in order that we might receive the son-place.

And because you are sons, God sent out the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba the Father.

So that you are no longer a bondservant, but a son, and since a son, then also an heir through God.

But then, on the one hand, not knowing God, you slaved to the things by nature not being gods.

But now on the other hand, having known God, but rather, having been known by God, how do you turn again upon the weak and poor elements to which you desire to slave all over again?

You observe days and months and seasons and years.

I fear you, lest somehow I have labored vainly into you.

Brethren, I beg you, come to be as I am, because I also have come to be as you. You did me not even one wrong;

And you know that on account of weakness of the flesh I preached the gospel to you, the one former,

and the trial of you in my flesh you despised not, not even loathed, but you received me as a messenger of God, as Christ Jesus.

Where then was the blessing of you? For I testify to you that if possible, you having dug-out your eyes, then you would have given them to me.

So that, have I come to be your enemy speaking truth to you?

They seek you, not well, but they desire to shut you out, in order that you might seek them.

But to be sought in a good way is always a good thing, and not only in the result for me to be present toward you.

My children whom I suffer birth pain again until which time Christ might be formed in you,

and I was desiring to be present toward you just now, and to change my voice, because I am perplexed in you.

You tell me, the ones desiring to be under law, do you not hear the law?

For it has been written that Abraham had two sons, one out from the bondwoman and one out from the freewoman.

But on the one hand, the one out from the bondwoman has been begotten according to flesh, but on the other hand, the one out from the freewoman through a promise.

Which things is being allegorized; for these are two covenants, on the one hand, one from Mount Sinai being begotten into slavery, which is Hagar.

Moreover, Hagar is the Mount Sinai in the Arabia and she corresponds to the Jerusalem now, for she slaves with her children.

But on the other hand, the Jerusalem above is free, which is mother of us all.

For it has been written: Rejoice barren one, the one not giving birth, burst apart and cry aloud, the one not suffering birth pain; because many more the children of the wilderness than of the one having the husband.

And you brethren, according to Isaac are children of a promise.

But just as then, the one having been begotten according to flesh was pursuing the one according to spirit, even so now.

But what does the Scripture say? Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman will absolutely not inherit with the son of the freewoman.

Therefore, brethren, we are not children of a bondwoman, but of the freewoman.
