But false prophets also came to be among the people, as also among you all there will be false teachers, who will introduce factions of destruction, even denying the Master having purchased them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
And many will follow their licentiousness, on account of whom the way of the truth will be blasphemed.
And in greediness they will merchandise you with false words, for whom the judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not slumber.
For since God did not spare angels having sinned, but having cast them into Tartarus with chains of blackness, He delivered them over into judgment, being reserved,
and He did not spare the ancient world, but He guarded the eighth, Noah, a preacher of righteousness, having brought a deluge to a world of ungodly,
and the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, having reduced to ruin, He condemned, placed as an example for those who are going to be ungodly,
and He rescued righteous Lot, being oppressed by the conduct in licentiousness of the lawless ones,
for by seeing and hearing, the righteous one dwelling among them day out from day, was tormenting his righteous soul by their lawless works,
then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly out from temptation but to reserve the unrighteous into a day of judgment, being punished,
but especially the ones going after the flesh in lust of corruption, and despising lordship, bold, self-willed, they do not tremble while blaspheming glories,
whereas angels, being greater as to force and power, do not bring against them a blasphemous judgment with the Lord.
But these, as unreasonable living creatures begotten naturally into capture and corruption, in which blaspheming, they are ignorant in their corruption and will be corrupted,
being harmed with the reward of unrighteousness, considering it a pleasure to revel in the day, spots and blemishes reveling in their deceptions, feasting together with you,
having eyes full of adultery and unceasing of sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart exercised of covetousness, children of a curse,
having left a straight way, they were misled, having followed in the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.
But he had rebuked of his own transgression, a mute donkey, having uttered in a voice of a man, hindered the insanity of the prophet.
These are waterless springs and mists being driven by a gale, for whom the blackness of the darkness has been reserved.
For arrogant sounds uttering of vanity, they entice in lusts of the flesh to licentiousness, the ones barely escaping the ones dwelling in error.
Promising freedom to them, themselves being bondservants of the corruption, for by what a certain one has been defeated, to this he has been enslaved.
For if having escaped the defilements of the world in full knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and having been entangled again by these things, then they are defeated, the last things have come to be worse for them than the first.
For it was better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than having had full knowledge, to return out from the holy commandment having been delivered to them.
It happened to them, the one of the true proverb, a dog having returned upon its own vomit, and a pig having washed into wallowing of mire.
