1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen sojourners of the dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of spirit, into obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, grace to you all and may peace be multiplied.
1 Therefore, having put away all evil and all deceit and hypocrisies and envies and all slanders, 2 as newborn babies, long for the rational, pure milk, in order that in it you might grow into salvation,
1 Likewise, wives being submissive to their own husbands, in order that also, since certain ones are disobedient to the word, then through the conduct of the wives, they will be gained without a word, 2 having observed your pure conduct in fear.
1 Christ, therefore, having suffered as to flesh, you also equip yourselves with the same intension, because the one having suffered as to flesh has ceased from sin, 2 into the purpose no longer to live the remaining time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
1 I, the fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, the one also who is a partner of the glory that is going to be revealed, exhort the elders among you: 2 Shepherd the flock of God among you, overseeing not by compulsion, but willfully, according to God, neither for sordid gain, but eagerly;
